NASA desperately searches for voyager 2 after losing contact

NASA is actively searching for any signals from Voyager 2, which lost contact after a recent mishap. The spacecraft’s antenna tilted slightly, severing communication with Earth. Despite the challenge, NASA’s Canberra antenna in Australia is attempting to catch any stray signals from the distant spacecraft, which is over 12 billion miles away.

They will also send the correct command to Voyager 2 in the hopes of reestablishing communication. If this fails, a spacecraft reset in October may be the solution. Launched in 1977, Voyager 2, along with its twin Voyager 1, was sent to explore the outer planets. While Voyager 2 is currently out of touch, Voyager 1 remains in contact and is the farthest human-made object at nearly 15 billion miles away from Earth.
